General Accountant | Thailand
About the role
The General Accountant assists the Controller to coordinate, administer and process accounting and financial reports for the bank. Day-to-day activities involving the banks’ general accounting systems include calculating, posting and verifying financial data for use in internal and external reporting and maintaining statistical records. The successful candidate will work with the Controller in developing policies, procedures, and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Bank Controller to maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, team and organisational budgets and actual expenditures;
- Assist the Bank Controller in establishing (in coordination with the Head of Finance) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, programme monitoring and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly and annual basis.
- Assist the Bank Controller to implement consistent accounting policies, practices and procedures across all programmes, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation;
- Ensure accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines;
- Reconcile accounts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field;
- 2-3 years’ work experience in accounting;
- Ability to communicate well in English (oral and written) will be advantagous;
- General knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations;
- Timely month-end closing and submission of reports;
- Good analytical and communication skills;
- Ability to work as part of a team;
- Honest and reliable.
