About the role

The General Accountant assists the Controller to coordinate, administer and process accounting and financial reports for the bank. Day-to-day activities involving the banks’ general accounting systems include calculating, posting and verifying financial data for use in internal and external reporting and maintaining statistical records. The successful candidate will work with the Controller in developing policies, procedures, and objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Bank Controller to maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, team and organisational budgets and actual expenditures;
  • Assist the Bank Controller in establishing (in coordination with the Head of Finance) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, programme monitoring and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly and annual basis.
  • Assist the Bank Controller to implement consistent accounting policies, practices and procedures across all programmes, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation;
  • Ensure accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines;
  • Reconcile accounts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field;
  • 2-3 years’ work experience in accounting;
  • Ability to communicate well in English (oral and written) will be advantagous;
  • General knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations;
  • Timely month-end closing and submission of reports;
  • Good analytical and communication skills;
  • Ability to work as part of a team;
  • Honest and reliable.

About the role

The Accounts Receivable Officer is responsible for the company’s finance and accounting activities. This includes coordinating with internal departments and external service providers to achieve timely and accurate processing of accounts receivables. Tasks include preparing invoices and payment reports, weekly bank transfers and other assigned duties.

Responsibilities
  • Compile accounts receivable invoices;
  • File invoices and separate by agency code for attached receipt vouchers;
  • Run and file invoices for reference (for auditors and Revenue Department);
  • Prepare documents for updating in PAXY;
  • Summarise and sort invoices by type of tax for attached receipt vouchers;
  • Collect cash and issue receipts and tax invoices;
  • Enter petty cash payment in the system;
  • Output VAT reconciliation;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance / accounting; new graduates are welcome;
  • Accounting training & certifications;
  • Up to date on taxation;
  • Minimum 1 year experience in this position;
  • Able to use accounting software and Microsoft Office applications;
  • Be able to complete month-end closing and report submissions in a timely manner;
  • Good analytical and communication skills;
  • Ability to work as part of a team;
  • Honest and reliable.
