Mutelu Trip

Mutelu Trip

Embark on a spiritual journey on a tour of some of Chiang Mai’s most revered religious sites. This discovery is conducted in silent and clean electric tuk-tuks – the perfect vehicles to visit sacred sites. We pay our devotion at Wat Lok Moli, a temple that dates back to the 14th century. This features a huge chedi, constructed in 1527, which contains the ashes of several Mengrai Dynasty kings who ruled the Lanna Kingdom from the 13th to the 16th centuries. We then pay homage to Queen Mahadevi Chiraprapa, followed by a stop at Wat Chiang Man, a temple famous for merit making.

Our journey continues to a Brahmin statue to pay respect to the ‘god of success’. This is carved from a single piece of teak wood, that weighs five tons and stands at a height of six metres, making it the largest of its kind in Thailand. Our last stop is the Old Quarter, including Thapae Gate, one of the most famous landmarks in Chiang Mai, followed by the return to our hotel. This is the perfect excursion to gain spiritual enlightenment at the city’s most revered sites.

  • This tour takes 4 hours with departures at 8 am and 2 pm;
  • This tour includes visits to religious sites where a dress code may apply. Please dress respectfully by wearing clothing that covers the ankles and shoulders, avoid clothing with bright, fluorescent colours, obscene prints or pictures, beachwear or strapless sandals / flip flops. I is customary to remove shoes when entering religious sites and temples;
  • Pick up and drop off for this programme is available only from the main hotels within the downtown Chiang Mai area. Supplementary fees apply for transfers to and from areas outside the central business district, such as Mae Rim, Hang Dong, Doi Saket, Mae Taeng and Chiang Mai International Airport.
  • Tours and transfers operated with licensed, English-speaking assistance;
  • Transportation for tours and transfers are arranged by electric vehicle unless otherwise stated;
  • All entrance fees for visits as mentioned in the programme;
  • All applicable taxes and service charges.

This is one of our Sustainable Trails, an excursion that maximises positive impacts on local communities and minimises negative impacts on the environment in the following ways:

  • Transport alternatively – Walking is combined with a mix of local transportation (electric tuk-tuks);
  • Experience meaningfully – This tour includes visits to local rural communities and guests experience Chiang Mai like a local.

Good Morning Chiang Mai

Good Morning Chiang Mai

Explore the beautiful and ancient city of Chiang Mai in a modern electric tuk-tuk. With no noise and no vehicle pollution, this is the best way to discover a metropolis that is home to ornate temples, lively markets, and architectural riches, all framed by a historic city wall. The former capital of the Lanna Kingdom, Chiang Mai is nestled between a rolling, mountainous landscape, and lush, fertile farmland. Highlights of this excellent morning excursion include Chiang Mai Gate Market, one of the most traditional in the province, with excellent food options.

We will experience a traditional almsgiving ceremony, in which people donate food to monks in return for a blessing. We can enjoy a leisurely walk around the stalls and stop for a delicious and inexpensive breakfast. We then explored the Old Quarter, including Thapae Gate, one of the most famous landmarks in Chiang Mai, followed by a transfer back to our hotel. This tour reveals authentic local life, far from the tourist trail and the early morning timing avoids the heat of the day.

  • This tour takes 3 hours with departures at 6 am;
