in the city centre of Kuala Lumpur.

WHY THIS TOUR?

Kampung Baru was established as early as the 1880’s and offers a rare glimpse into ethnic Malay culture. The community has an old-world vibe, with stilted wooden houses built in the traditional Malay style, surrounded by coconut and banana trees. Several families have lived in the village for four generations.

During this three-hour experience, guests explore the village to discover its food, architecture, local landmarks and cultural heritage. The excursion includes local-style high tea at a Malay home and visits to a mosque, a market and a temple.

TRAIL ITINERARY

Here, village residents continue to preserve the traditional ways of life and stories that have been passed down from their ancestors.

Discover local life, food, architecture and cultural sights in the kampung! Savour high tea – Kampung Baru style – in a Malay home. This is an experience not to forget! Then visit Kampung Baru Mosque for an overview of local Islamic beliefs and traditions. Continue to Chow Kit Market, one of the city’s oldest markets. Watch the hustle and bustle as roadside vendors sell their fresh meats, fruits and vegetables. Next, head to Tatt Khalsa Diwan Gurdwara Sikh Temple, the largest temple in South East Asia. An Exquisite Experience in Kuala Lumpur

An Exquisite Experience
in Kuala Lumpur

Guardians of the culinary galaxy in Kuala Lumpur keep a low profile for reasons aplenty.
These ambassadors of local cuisine treasure their recipes tightly controlled as
loyal return over and over again. An Exquisite Experience in diverse KL.

WHY THIS TOUR?

Food in multi-cultural Kuala Lumpur is regarded as a delectable collection of classic recipes served with the locals. Renowned for its hawker food which is acclaimed as ‘out of this world’ and delicious chicken rice, no food court or hawker has yet beaten the succulence served on a plastic plate. With its easy to access location and increasing popularity, it is recommended to head to the various Jalans to experience local cuisine early in the day as everything tends to be sold out after lunchtime.

For the coming 5 hours, a personalized guided venture assures that you will get engulfed in the culinary delights of street-side carts as a multitude of dishes that stimulate your senses. The majority for the coming hours will be done on foot to experience the foodie side of Kuala Lumpur.

TRAIL ITINERARY

An Exquisite Experience in Kuala Lumpur

15:00 - 20:00

Jalan Bukit Bintan has to be the centre of it all. From shopping opulence to getting a feeling of the country’s diverse cultural mixture of religions, cultures, and authenticity, there is no better way to sample the finest delicacies than right here. Hawker galore comes in various forms and sizes, with Lot 10 Hutong topping the charts. It is a blend of gastronomical recipes and the mixture of heritage, translated through a degustation of flavours that exhumes exploration.

Our local cuisine experts navigate through the alleys and stalls of this food institution, picking and choosing the dishes that form the foundation of Malaysian cuisine. Dishes and snacks with hints of Penang heritage to the Chinese wok-heated noodles with condiments are for you to try out.

There is more than meets the eye. As we exit the all-under-one-roof concept of the Hutong-style Lot 10, a short walk towards Jalan Alor brings the explorer out of everyone. Rows of street food hawkers, seafood restaurants and ‘mama and papa’ stalls that cherish generations-honoured recipes pack the kerbsides until late. Dim Sum and the grilled satay lok-lok with the compulsory peanut sauce will see the continuation of this culinary feast.

Before moving back to your overnight address in Kuala Lumpur, the final stop of our exquisite experience is at a local Mamak, right at the SK Corner. Guided by eyes and nose, your guide insists you will give the paper dosa here a try – paper-thin pancakes with a selection of Indian sauces such as curry or coconut chutney will end this eating feast of extraordinary proportions. All this will be washed away with Teh Tarik, Malaysia’s famous milk tea before you head back to your hotel.

Selangor’s Fireflies, Kampung and Seafood

Selangor’s Fireflies,
Kampung and Seafood

Where romance meets Malaysia’s local side. Selangor’s reputation as the sight of thousands
of lights, created by a permanent colony of fireflies is well-known around the country.
Adding a seafood dinner to the day and voila, an outstanding outing emerges!

WHY THIS TOUR?

Malaysia’s capital offers sufficient possibilities to get the smell, taste and feel of what the country depicts as the frontrunner to represent modern Malaysia. Visitors may see only a glimpse of what makes Malaysia such a multi-versed tourism destination, yet when exploration takes you farther away often gives visitors a feeling of the traditional side of this country.

Our late afternoon and evening exploration of the Selangor province with its laid-back capital is merely one example of what one can expect when venturing away from the hustle and bustle of Kuala Lumpur.

TRAIL ITINERARY

Selangor’s Fireflies, Kampung and Seafood

16:00 - 22:00

Your guide/driver will be waiting for you at your hotel lobby at around 4 pm for a leisurely drive out of the city and into the direction of the State of Selangor. This easy drive takes approximately 1 hour before we reach the main town of Kuala Selangor. A diverse town where authentic rural life still plays an important role, and where income from fishing and farming comprises mainly to the region’s industry. Besides this, large parts of the state and surrounding Kuala Selangor are now used for high-in-demand palm oil and rubber cultivation.

We head up to Bukit Melawati, once the home base for two forts and now the perfect spot to get a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape and see ships coming, going and passing by the town through the Strait of Melaka. Customers may get the chance to see the shy yet friendly sliver leaf monkeys roaming around freely.

When you know that fish and seafood are caught in abundance, what better way to try out these delicacies yourself? Dinner will be served at one of the established seafood restaurants in Kuala Selangor before we head upstream to watch (hopefully) the thousands of fireflies twinkling in the dark along with the thick mangrove trees. The boat will sail up and down from Kuantan, where we venture partially by boat over the Selangor River’s estuary, is the best place to start this mesmerizing trip of flickering lights in the darkness.

We return to the pier, where your vehicle awaits to bring you back in comfort back to Kuala Lumpur. Do expect to reach your hotel at around 10 pm with new experiences pocketed!

A Stroll Through Historical Malacca

A Stroll Through
Historical Malacca

Malacca’s trading history and being colonized by seafaring nations in the past has made it one
of the most culturally enthralling towns in Malaysia. Within easy reach of Kuala Lumpur,
get a full day taste of this once-thriving port along the Peninsula.

WHY THIS TOUR?

A short drive south from the Malaysian capital and Malacca welcomes you with open arms. Once a stronghold and an important trading station for the Portuguese, Dutch, British and Japanese with its direct location along the Malacca Strait, Malacca’s historical values are earmarked for finding some amazement for a full day of exploring a UNESCO World Heritage Site-recognized part of Malaysia.

The prominence and cultural appeal, alongside the earlier-mentioned trading centre for the past centuries, will captivate visitors as we explore the town from all corners.

TRAIL ITINERARY

A Stroll Through Historical Malacca

09:00 - 17:00

Customers are welcomed by an English-speaking driver-cum-guide (supplements apply for a private guide) who warmly greets you at your downtown Kuala Lumpur hotel. We may encounter some traffic in the morning, but within no time, your driver will head southbound towards Malacca as he/she will explain of what may come while you enjoy the view of the local side of the country. Depending on traffic conditions, the drive will take approximately 1.5 hours before we reach Malaysia’s former port and trading post along the shores of the Malacca Strait. One of the most recognized sites in Malacca is the Dutch Square with its characteristic, pink-coloured Stadthuys, a reminder of the Dutch colonial influences, and one of the main reasons Malacca received UNESCO protection in 2008.

The nearby Red Church with the still-functioning clock tower and the Queen Victoria Fountain offer plenty of photography moments to keep visual mementoes of this day out before we continue to see the Cheng Hoon Teng, the oldest functioning Chinese temple in the whole country. Founded in 1645, this spiritual centre practices the three doctrinal systems, namely Taoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism.

The days when the Portuguese ruled the sceptre over Malacca are visually still present at the Porta de Santiago, the fate to the in 1511-constructed fortress A Formosa with the ruins of the St. Paul’s Church as the spiritual centre for sea merchants and spice traders from Portugal. The church is well-known as one of the more famous settlers – St. Francis Xavier. Ample time to take in the history and get a panoramic view over Malacca at the see before heading out to our local lunch address for a taste of Malacca. We end the day with strolling through Jonker Street, the most famous street in the whole town. One will find plenty of small cafes and restaurants alongside numerous shops selling antiques and souvenirs before heading back to Kuala Lumpur.
